Calling boy-shaped body?

There's this type of body which has little or no curves at all, small breasts and small butt; hips and shoulders of the same width. It has been called ruler, banana and many other names, but sometimes it is also called boy shaped body. I used to think that the name only was used informally, but it seems that fashion blogs and magazines use it too. Isn't it offensive? We tell those women to be confident in themselves, but with those names is it hard for many of them to be.
