Can you have a false period?

ok so im 15 and not sure whats happening but around may i thought i had my 1st period i had blood for a week it it stopped and didnt happen again till nov. and it was only for a day that had blood it stopped and now its a new year jan. and i had the same thing it happened for one day and hasnt come back. is it normal i thought a period was suppose to be at least once a month or so i have 2 to 3 month gaps please help :(.
