Enhance Your Beauty

Don't you just love makeup? Make up is obviously popular for the girls. Everybody must have one. I do have some make ups but I don't really wear them often. I just love buying them and experiment with. It's just FUN!!

Here's a couple of tips for applying make up.

Firstly, you need to apply a think layer of foundation over your eyelids. You then need to apply a bit of concealer under the eyes to camouflage fine lines and wrinkles. Then apply a coat of eye shadow primer – starting from the eyelash to the eyebrow. This will ensure your eye makeup stays longer. Take three shades of the same color. Firstly choose the medium color and apply it from your eyelashes till the crease.

Then use an eyeliner (darker shade of the same color) to make a line just along your eyelashes. Use the darkest color shade to go over this eyeliner line. Then prep the portion above the eye crease with the lightest shade of the color. For the space under the eyebrow, use a shimmery shade of the same color. Finish the makeup application by blending the colors on the eyelid thoroughly to avoid any unsightly lines.

A beautiful makeover begins with the right foundation. Most women have yellow based skin. This includes most Caucasian and all Asian, Latin and African women. This is one of the most important makeup tips!

When we women with yellow-based skin wear foundation that is too pink or orange, it often looks artificial and two-toned. This is because the undertone in the foundation “clashes” with our natural yellow-based skin.

To create the look naturally flawless skin, you must wear a foundation with a yellow base. Sacha manufactures the only yellow-based foundations in the world. They perfectly match every complexion, leaving your skin looking flawless and natural-looking. You never look orangey, pasty or un-natural. When you walk into a room people notice you and not your makeup!

Never use bold pencils for anything, always sharpen for two reasons 1 fast build up of bacteria on tip, 2 wont give any natural definitiion to your finished look, only and Only use bold pencils after running pencil in hot water for a deeper or smudgey look.

For accentuated lips, begin with pencil, lipstick, gloss if needed, then pencil again, blot lips, then lipstick again

Comb brows upwards before plucking or colouring in for tweezing the bottom, then cob downwards to tweeze on top.

When applying lipstick, relax your mouth and apply. If you wear a dark shade of lipstick brush it on with your fingertips. This gives your mouth a sexy, pouty look. It also prevents your lipstick from looking clumpy.

When applying mascara (black is always the best choice) Make sure to apply to both top and bottom lashes. Apply to bottom lashes before coating the top.

Apply eye shadow in rich shades to eyelids. Then dab a touch of petroleum jelly over for a glossy look.

Make Your Face Look Slimmer

Use your make up blusher cleverly to slim down chubby cheeks

Purchase two shades of blush, one of a deeper shade and one that's lighter. To ensure the shades go together, purchase a compact with two coordinating shades.

Apply your usual foundation make-up or powder to cover any imperfections and even out your skin tone.

Apply the lighter shade of blush in circular motions onto the apples of your cheeks... how do you to find your apples? Just smile!

Next, following the line of your cheekbones, apply a sheer sweep of the deeper shade of blush.

Blend, blend and blend. The key with this trick is to create dimension, but you do not want a very obvious demarcation between your natural cheek color and the blush (i.e. think stripes!).

Sweep a small amount of the lighter shade across your nose and/or forehead as desired to add an extra "glow" to your complexion.

Bipolar Disorder Prevention Tips

Bipolar Disorder is the name used to describe a set of 'mood swing' conditions, the most severe form of which used to be called 'manic depression'.

Bipolar Disorder I is the more severe disorder - with individuals being more likely to experience mania , have longer 'highs', be more likely to have psychotic experiences and be more likely to be hospitalized.

The high moods are called mania or hypomania and the low mood is called depression.

It is important to note that everyone has mood swings from time to time. It is only when these moods become extreme and interfere with personal and professional life that Bipolar Disorder may be present and medical assessment may be warranted.

Daily Exercise

Walk 10 Minutes a Day and Increase Your Fitness Level Old thinking was to work out in a sweat-filled gym for hours a day. No pain, no gain. New studies show that even short bouts of activity can increase your fitness level, especially if you're new at working out.

Park and Walk
Whenever you have an errand, park your car as far away as you can handle and walk to the store. At the mall, park at the farthest end and walk the length of the mall. Use every opportunity to walk. At the end of the day, it all adds up to better fitness.

Crunch in Bed
Before you even get out of bed in the morning, do 10 stomach crunches while lying flat on your mattress. Increase daily by one until you get up to 100. Think you'll never get there? Try it. You may eventually have to set your clock to wake up 15 minutes earlier, a small price to pay for a flatter stomach.

Health Task

Daily Health Task Lists

Just like brushing your teeth, healthy habits should be cultivated on a daily basis. The following is a guide to daily tasks:

1. Activity should be a daily occurrence. Walk, run or jump for a minimum total of 20 minutes a day.

2. Protect your skin. Sun block should be applied on face, neck, arms and hands even in the dead of winter. It protects against climatic toxins too. Moisturize skin daily.

3. Eat fruits, vegetables, grains, low-fat dairy products and small amounts of protein. Avoid sweets and other processed foods.

4. Meditate or spend a minimum of five minutes daily in quiet time.

5. Find your spiritual self. Discover what inspires you, raises your level of consciousness, motivates you, and satisfies your soul.

6. Exercise your brain. Read, study, solve problems, and learn new skills. As does the body, the brain atrophies with lack of use.

7. Hug somebody.

Eye Health Tips

Astigmatism

Astigmatism describes the shape of the cornea as being oval instead of a sphere.

Most Astigmatic Corneas have two types of curves. The curves are considered to be a steep curve as well as a flat curve. The presence of these two types of cornea curves causes light to focus on more than one point with in the eye. For this reason, Astigmatism can blur both near and far vision. Astigmatism often occurs along with nearsightedness or farsightedness. There are two common types of Astigmatism. When the cornea has a distorted shape, it is called Corneal Astigmatism. When the lens is distorted, it is called Lenticular Astigmatism. Either type of Astigmatism can cause blurred vision.

Astigmatism can be detected and measured with Corneal Topography, Keratometry, vision testing and refraction. Astigmatism tends to remain constant, neither improving nor deteriorating much over time. Astigmatism can be corrected with glasses, contacts, or a variety of surgical procedures. The most common surgeries used to correct Astigmatism are Astigmatic Keratotomy and LASIK. These procedures reshape the cornea so it becomes more spherical.

Tips about Tea

Is Tea Harmful?

Nobody knows exactly, where or when, the first cup of tea was brewed. According to folklore, Emperor "Shen Nung" who reigned over China in 2732 BC discovered the stimulating effect of tea accidentally when wild tea leaves fell into his pot of boiling drinking water.

Chinese have probably been drinking tea in some form or the other since the fourth century AD and considering that wild tea grew in many parts of Assam, it is not unknowingly that tea drinking in India too is as old as in China. The raw material for tea manufacture normally consists of two young leaves and an unopened leaf bud-the famous "two leaves and a bud" formula, but, plucking of longer shoots containing 3 or even 4 leaves is not uncommon. The freshly harvested tea shoots can be processed into the various kinds of tea, namely, black tea, green tea, oolong tea and instant tea. In the manufacture of black tea(the usual tea that we drink),the material undergoes "fermentation" while in the production of green tea, delicate and subtle in flavour, fermentation is purposely omitted.Oolong tea leaves get an intermediate treatment, considered to be "semi-fermented".Instant tea, like instant coffee,is a dehydrated product containing only the soluble constituents of tea.

There is hardly any drink that is not a food too, in terms of calories it provides-tea is no exception. A cup of tea, containing 2 tbsp of milk and a tsp of sugar, yields about 40 calories. Milk contains casein, which makes the tannin in the tea insoluble, thus removing some of its astringency(acidic effect).Apart from the milk and sugar generally added, the tea infusion contains marginal quantities of vitamins and minerals, but no significant quantities of extractable proteins, carbohydrates or fats.

Tea is fairly rich in most of the B group vitamins. Apart from these, it is also a good source of vitamin E and K and Beta-carotene (changes into vitamin A in our body).Tea contains traces of minerals like Copper, Flouride and Manganese too. Fluoride helps in avoiding cavities in the teeth.

The accumulating scientific data on tea and its constituents - the vitamins, caffeine and tannin- and on its antibacterial activity provides a new picture of this popular beverage. Over the past few decades, the list of physiological disorders for which tea is contra-indicated has been steadily decreasing. On the other hand, caffeine is sometimes prescribed therapeutically for the treatment of hypertensive headaches and tea is a legitimate means of supplying this medication. Tannin destroys bacteria and virus, thereby inhibiting the growth of dental plaque. But at the same time, tannin inhibits the absorption of iron, calcium and zinc from the food, when tea is consumed along with food.

Addiction

Addiction Info

Definition

Addiction is a dependence on a behavior or substance that a person is powerless to stop.

The term has been partially replaced by the word dependence for substance abuse. Addiction has been extended, however, to include mood-altering behaviors or activities. Some researchers speak of two types of addictions: substance addictions (for example, alcoholism, drug abuse, and smoking); and process addictions (for example, gambling, spending, shopping, eating, and sexual activity). There is a growing recognition that many addicts, such as polydrug abusers, are addicted to more than one substance or process.

A multitude of reasons may cause this:

* Gastritis

* Excessive drinking
* Excessive intake of contaminated food

High Blood Pressure Tips

Tips to help you control your high blood pressure
Make sure your blood pressure is under 140/90 mm Hg

If your systolic pressure is over 140, ask your doctor what you can do to lower it.

If you have diabetes it is even more important to maintain your blood pressure at an acceptable level, which reduces long-term complications associated with this disease process. You should be receiving regular monitoring and advice from you GP/diabetic practitioner.
Aim for a healthy weight

Ideally try not to gain extra weight in the first place, if you have then try to lose the weight slowly, at about half to one pound a week until you reach a healthy target. This can be easier to achieve if you include exercise as well to burn off those unwanted calories and tone your body as you lose the weight.

If you are overweight or obese, carrying this extra weight increases your risk of high blood pressure because the heart has to work very hard to keep blood circulating efficiently.
Exercise - be active every day!

Even the simplest exercise will help; you can walk, dance, use the stairs, play sports, or do any activity you enjoy. For instance: get off the bus one or two stops early; park your car at the other end of the car park and walk; walk or cycle to the corner shop.

Being physically active is one of the most important steps you can take to prevent or control high blood pressure and will help you keep your weight down. It will also help to reduce your risk of heart disease and enhances overall wellbeing. All you need to do is 30 minutes of moderate level activity preferably every day of the week - you can even divide the 30 minutes into shorter 10 minute periods if you are not used to regular exercise.

Exercise does not have to be strenuous; you should start slowly and build up the amount of exercise that you do.

It is not advisable, however, to lift heavy weights or to take on certain strenuous activities if exercise has not been gradually and appropriately introduced. If you are worried that your health could be adversely affected by exercise, i.e. you have a heart complaint; make sure that you are reviewed by your GP.
Look at what you are eating. Does it contain a lot of sodium?

It is suggested that no more than 2.4 grams of sodium should be consumed per day. Read the labels and be aware of hidden sodium, which is known to increase blood pressure. Try not to add salt to your meals.
Eat more fruit and vegetables

Eating more fiber should help to stop you feeling hungry and less likely to pick at sweets, chocolate and crisps etc.
Stop/reduce smoking - smoking causes the blood to thicken

Not only does this make you more at risk of developing a dangerous blood clot but it makes the heart work harder in order to 'push' the blood around the system to provide oxygen and other important components.
Reduce your stress levels

Take time out for yourself each day to do something you like to do without feeling guilty. If there are any problems worrying you try talking them over with a friend, or someone you trust, this is often all that is needed to make you feel better. Also remember if you wear a smile, it will rub off on others. Try it and see!
Watch your alcohol intake

Keep the amount of units you consume to a minimum, as your body works hard to flush it out of your system and this will have an effect on your blood pressure (plus it will increase your weight).

It is recommended that men limit themselves to no more than one or two drinks per day and women should have no more than one drink per day.
Take medication correctly

If you have been prescribed medication from your GP to control your blood pressure, make sure that you take the medication correctly and visit your GP regularly for your blood pressure to be monitored effectively.
