Girls Night Out!

My pedi was awesome! I just love getting pampered and having your feet massaged is the best. :) Here are my toes post-pedi, sadly they still look pretty nasty with all the blisters. For my color I chose OPI’s “Bastille My Heart.” I really liked the color when I got it last summer and was glad to hear it was still available.

We had dinner on the waterfront. Ended up on the patio at Salty’s. First off, if you’re from Nova Scotia then you probably have heard about the whole sewage plant problem. While the view was pleasant enough, a wonderful sunny evening; the smell was certainly not. And second, I’m not gonna lie – I was really disappointed with the restaurant. There are 2 sections to Salty’s, the Upstairs, which is fine dining or the Downstairs (what we chose), which is casual.

We started off with the garlic cheese bread. It arrived within 5 mins and really good. (forgot to snap a pic) For drinks, I ordered a Black Current Lemonade Martini and water. Looked pretty enough, but definitely not my type of drink. Holly enjoyed it though.

Our view from the patio was nice – there was a wedding party getting photographed on the boardwalk and tons of boats in the harbour including Theodore! Hehe ;)

For dinner I chose the Cajun Chicken Wrap - grilled chicken slices, ancho pepper mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato in a tortilla wrap with a Caesar salad. There was so much mayo in the wrap that overpowered the entire thing AND went everywhere. I couldn’t take a bite without it dripping down my hands and face.

The salad wasn’t anything special either. Usually that amount of bacon adds some flavour but not this time. :(

Since it was chilly out I decided to treat myself to a hot chocolate. There wasn’t much taste to it at all, very watery. It was really busy and I was with other people so I didn’t think it was the most appropriate time to complain. I can’t see myself ever going back there though.

Our next stop was the Old Triangle for more drinks. I ordered something that I think was called a “Guilty Pleasure.” – a YUMMY mix of amaretto, kahlua & grand marnier!

And even better was this melt in your mouth, white chocolate vanilla cheesecake! :) I have been craving cheesecake for some time and this certainly hit the spot!

We spent a few hours at the Triangle. I managed to sip on one double White Russian for the remainder of the time. Back in the day that was my drink of choice and I thought what the hell, might as well have one! This is pretty much where I stopped taking pics though. We ended up on the patio at Peddlers for a couple hours, where I enjoyed two double vodka cranberries and then headed over to the Casino. Gambling isn’t really my scene so I watched everyone else and waited for the guys to pick us up. Overall a fantastic evening and can’t wait for the wedding next Saturday!

This morning I woke up and headed down to the farmers market to stock up on fresh meats & produce. The rest of the day includes a mile long “to-do” list, getting my butt out for a run and an early bed time! Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend!
