Are Amino Acid supplement(pills) a waste of money or beneficial?

Are Amino Acid supplement(pills) a waste of money or beneficial?

Im into bodybuilding,and mass gains.I take protein shakes after workouts,as well as eat lean meat and hardly any body fat products..
Ive heard people say Well if you eat right,and eat good lean meat youll be getting all the amino acids you need" etc,but still..what Im wondering is if say in a 6 week trial of weight lifting ,would I gain slightly/significantly more muscle mass/definition with taking these high quality amino acid pills compared to if not? even with the protein powders?
